It was amazing...

... truly amazing. This vacation to the US has always been my dream, and it was exactly as I imagined. I would like to share some pictures with you.
We visited the lovely countryside of Cape Cod and drove down to New York. Two opposites; this made this vacation very special.

I adore lighthouses. On Cape Cod, there were so many of them!

There was actually someone living in this house. Having your own lighthouse, how amazing is that?

Breathtaking beaches... with the typical Cape Cod fences.

Right before Halloween, there were so many pumpkin patches. They made such sweet decorations in front of the white houses.

Oh, another lighthouse with the crystal blue sea... This one was on Martha's Vinyard, an island near to Cape Cod.

We went whale watching. I've rarely been so impressed.

We were living next to this beautiful lake...

Cape Cod has their own beach seat style. They know how to relax (and that you absolutely need a place where you can put down your book!)

Lovely countryside and white houses...

I love the American prim country style. Even though it can be quite colorful, I think it can be lovely on white!

I wish I could have shopped till the airplane dropped! Unfortunately I couldn't buy this entire shop (including furniture)

How I miss those!!

I wish this cutie came home with me!

This mailbox is so cool!

This house is not so representative because it's red (and not white or grey), but it looks so sweet. It's actually a great decor shop.

Little house...

... and big house: NYC

Hope you liked the pictures!

A little question...

I've been wondering if everyone managed to subscribe to my blog when I changed the name.

I realized that I got significantly less comments since I've made the change. Don't understand me wrong: It's completely fine with me if you're just a "silent reader", so am I because I read a lot of blogs and can't comment often. And even though I'm of course happy about each comment, I neither have to get tons of comments to keep my blog going. I just wonder where everyone disappeared to...

Maybe you could just leave a short message to this post that you are still there?
(and no, the number of my readers doesn't indicate anymore the number of people really managed to subscribe... so I have no idea who's out there!)

Have a wonderful weekend! Here, it's warm and sunny, finally again.

Fading Colors

When autumn is coming and the colors of the year fade, I always fall in love with vintage again...

It should be called the "Vintage Season"...

... and of course it's my favorite!

Now the summer vacation is over and the flea market season will begin again.

I'm ready for treasure hunting!

This means also changing a little bit the decor of our home with new old things...

... and working on new crafting ideas.

Let's hope for a beautiful sunny autumn (better than our summer)!

Love,

Chani

Fly, little bird...

I finially managed to list my new creations, what a relief!
Things have been so difficult for me in the last few months and I was sad that I couldn't get anything done. I had a lot of ideas; but I could work only on a few of them. I'm so glad I can show you my new creations. They are so special to me; when I made them, they took me to another world... like a bird.

Birds on a branch . Shabby vintage ribbon .

Fly, little bird . Bird cage tags.

Birdie’s toile . French fabric ornament .

The bird’s nest . Lovely vintage tags .
You can find some more items of the Les Oiseaux mini collection at Blanc & Caramel and Blanc & Caramel Etsy.

I recently got very interested in dollhouse miniatures. There are incredible and amazing things to see on some miniature blogs. I was in love. And when I won a mini set of typical French sweets at Le Petit Monde d'Oiseau I could have jumped for joy on the ceiling! Merci, Oiseau! Your creations are wonderful!

Mrs. Mouse has just bought them in the Sylvanian Families grocery shop... yes, I'm a big kid! Thanks for the inspiration and say hi to the Nutmegs, my friend Mo! (visit Mo at The Mouse Market... you will love it!)

Look at the wafers, cupcakes, macarons and calissons... mmmhhhh!

Love,

Life's a beach... but it's giveaway time!

Hi dear readers,

long time no read. I had (and have) some health issues, this is why I did not update much recently. I really hope it will soon get better and everything will be just a memory left of difficult times. Even though I'm not so present in the blogger world, my shop is still open with the same service than usual.

Now the good news! Sweet Suzanne from Shabby Chicks (isn''t that a cool blog name!) is hosting a Blanc & Caramel giveaway on her blog, please visit and the best of luck to win The Glittered Jar . Filled with vintage Paris crafting goodies!

Here's the link to the giveaway:

Hurry, the drawing will be on July 4th!

Look at Dani's beautiful picture she took of her win of my last giveaway:
http://thingsilike-dani.blogspot.com/2010/06/sikkepit.html

And even me I've been so lucky to win an adorable cinnamon bun miniature ring (smelling of real cinnamon!) by Gail of Guurrrl Designs. Doesn't it look superyummy??

I'd love to create miniatures myself, this will be my next creative project!

This ring must be the perfect accessory for autumn and winter days when we bake with cinnamon and ginger. I even like to match my jewelry with seasons! At the moment, this is my favorite necklace:

We finally went on our beach trip to Deauville: With winter clothing in June! But the sun came out on the second day and we could even walk barefeet on the beach. Loved it!

Now, back in town, it's hot hot HOT and while dreaming of jumping in the blue sea, I've added some summery nautical and shabby americana accents to our rooms.

By the Sea . Nautical double heart ornament .

Isn't our new beachy key box the sweetest?

Get some nautical decor in my shop, too...

Take care!
